These help guides should work with any Norstar CICS & MICS, or Nortel BCM system with recent software revisions.
If the display shows "A.Configuration" upon login you have an older software revision.

   Norstar Phone Setup and Testing

  • Button Inquiry: To check to see what's on a button:  Feature *0
  • To test your telephone:  Feature 805 - Do this if you are having problems with your phone.
    (On 7208 and 7100 sets, use * and # to scroll thru the different tests, use hold to start and stop tests, and release to finish)
  • Program a Feature Button: Feature *3 - Use this to program buttons with the Features listed below.
  • Program a Speed Dial Button: Feature *1  (if you have to dial a 9 to get out, include that in the number)
  • Program an Extension button:  Feature *2
  • Display Contrast Adjustment: Feature*7
  • Ring Type: Feature*6 - there are 4 ring types to choose from.
  • Ring Volume: Feature *80 
  • Move a line button: Feature *81 
  • Static Time and Date: Feature 806 - Keeps the time and date on your phone display even when there are messages and/or logged calls to view.
  • Dialing Modes: Feature *82 - Standard Dial, Automatic Dial, or Pre-Dial. Use Pre-dial to dial like a cellular phone - dial the number then press the line button to make the call. 
    Automatic dial is a live keypad.
  • If you have a Msg Waiting that you can't clear, use Feature 65  to review and Hold  to erase.
