These help guides should work with any Norstar CICS & MICS, or Nortel BCM system with recent software revisions.
If the display shows "A.Configuration" upon login you have an older software revision.

Norstar Feature Descriptions:

  • Background Music:  Feature 86 - listen to music through the speaker of your phone (only if the phone system is equipped with music on hold). To de-activate, press Feature #86.
  • Button Inquiry:  Feature *0 - to check what is programmed on a button on your phone
  • Call Duration:  Feature 77 - displays the length of your current or most recent call.
  • Call Park:  Feature 74 - puts the call on hold so that any other phone at the office can pick it up. While on the call, press this feature and the system will display a code. By dialing this code, any phone within the office is able to pickup the parked call.
  • Conference Call:  Feature 3 - place a call, put it on hold. Place a second call, press Feature 3. The display tells you to press the button of the first (blinking) call. You have established a conference call.
    Directed Pickup:  Feature 76 - allows to answer any ringing phone in the pickup group. Dial Feature76 and then the ringing phone's extension.
  • Do Not Disturb (DND):   Feature 85 - prevents calls from ringing on your phone. To de-activate, press Feature #85.
  • External autodial programming:  Feature *1 - program external speed dial numbers to the buttons on  your phone.
  • Feature button programming:  Feature *3 - to program different features to the buttons on your phone.
  • Group Listening: Feature 802 - allows you to use both the handset and the speaker during a call. The other party does not know they are on a speakerphone.
  • Group Pickup:  Feature 75 - allows to answer any ringing phone in the pickup group.
  • Internal autodial button programming:  Feature *2 - program internal speed dial numbers to the buttons on your phone.
  • Static Time & Date:  Feature 806 - keeps the time and date on the display of your phone even when there are messages or logged calls to view.
  • Voice Call:  Feature 66 - allows you to announce a call to everybody within the office through the speakerphones on the phones.
  • Voice Call Deny:  Feature 88 - allows you to block voice call announcements.
